i am from washington state. my bankruptcy was discharged in february 2001. my question to you is it legal for a person who wants to re-establish credit to apply for a second social security card and use that card for all credit and banking purposes only? my origianl ssn is being used as it was intended; taxes, employment and ss benefits. the reason i am asking this question is i received info from a financial institution stating that people who have bad credit or file bankruptcy can apply for a new ss card and use that new card for all credit and banking. is this legal?
