My home is in Forclosure. It is a FHA gaurenteed load with a standard Mortgage company. We filed a bankruptcy back in
1997 and listed this house with the intentions of trying to keep up with the payments but we could not. My question is,
if we let our house forclose, will the bankruptcy protect us against more collections? If we try to do a "in lieu of forclosure" would that be better? We have tried to sell it but it isn't worth what we owe. I would appreciate any information you might have.

My response:
Debra, Debra, Debra. I realize you and your husband are in a lot of emotional pain right now. But, with all of your past and present questions, I sincerely do believe that now is the time you should call your State's Bar Association for an "attorney referral." It won't cost very much (anywhere from $10.00 to $35.00) for a consultation. That way, you'll get all of your questions answered in one fell swoop.
Your questions are really very good, but they require very detailed advice.
Unless there's someone else on this Board who wishes to take a stab at this latest issue, I do, with all sincerity, wish you the best and a quick resolution to your situation.
