I filed bankruptcy which included past due tuition.

I have decided to go back to school to finish my degree and although I was reaccepted I was told I could not register until my past due tuition was paid.

The school has a copy of my bankruptcy paperwork which details the pastdue tuition as discharged and in speaking to a lawyer I was told this is against the bankruptcy law and I should be allowed to register w/o having to pay for the past due tuition.

Any suggestions?

Any one anything I can say/write to the college to tell them? They refuse to have the hold lifted from my account.

They don't call it higher education for nothing. They apparently learned from the first time.

You screwed them once, what makes you think you have the right to make them bend over and take it the second time.

Right. They may not be able to make you pay back the tuition you owe them, but they don't have to admit you if they think it might be a problem again....just like your other old creditors. Who do you think you are...the U.S. Government?
