In 1992 my daughter and I went to Turkey. Due to a series of wierd circumstances, I wound up having to get a repatriation loan from the US State Department to come home. My daughter was 12 at the time. The loan is about $4,500 and I don't have the $ to pay it off. Both of us are unable to get passports until it's paid off. Can I file it in a Chapter 7 and will the State Department allow us to get a passport if we do this?
