My husband and I are in the process of a separation and we're unable to sell our house. This is becoming a huge problem. Can I file bankruptcy in order to avoid a foreclosure?

BK will temporarly halt foreclosure. But, if you can't get current quickly, the lein holder will file for relief from stay and proceed with foreclosure.
BK is not the answer unless you have many other debts and a plan to get current.
Is there any equity in the house?
