I live in Ca , single/disabled mother of 2 under 18.
After my husband left and had his brother deal with our legal matters, I became in debt.
The main reason for my debt was one of my sons was a victim of molest and had numerous problems. In 1994 I was put on SSI and haven't worked since. Anyway today I received a notice from my bank, they had given all money to a judegement holder. I am at a loss. I had hoped to go to court to answer their claim, but was never asked.
what can I do? can I file B/K? I hate the thought, but they have taken my grocery money and I fear they can do that anytime I put money in my acct to pay bills.

Sissy,

Yes, you can file for bankruptcy and probably should. See a lawyer tomorrow. SSI is exempt from creditor seizure.
