Being accused of Defamation?

What is the name of your state? Missouri

Well, this is going to be lengthy, but I really hope I can get some advice from this.

I posted my laptop for sale a few months ago.

Now, I have a situation which could go south, but I think I have it as resolved as possible until I get my laptop back.

He is threatening to sue me, even though I have waited over several months to get a trade finished. He is claiming, "character deffamation."

If you have any advice, I'd appreciate it.

Let me explained what happened. We initially had a deal that we had laid out in February saying that he could send me his lappie first Well, he disappeared after I gave him the address and he agreed that we had a deal.

Well, after I desparately tried contacting him for a while. I got sick of it and gave up. I left some negative feedback in trade threads of his considering the fact he never followed through with finishing our deal calling him a, "lamer" which is an appropriate term for somebody who doesn't follow up on a deal.

He finally showed back up in April, I contacted him then, and sent him my laptop, then he promised to send me his laptop. Well, after I sent him my lappie, he started making legal threats, saying I "****ed up his life" and "ruined his reputation on the forums" and he claimed to have consulted a lawyer to file suit against me.

Well, after a while, I cut a deal with him. He promised to send me his PSP and associated accessories plus $1500.00 cash via Paypal. He never sent out the PSP, and now he is making legal threats again. He says he is also promising to send back my laptop, but I know something is still amiss.

Anyways, he is still claiming that he will haul me into court for calling him that.

Right now, I have a thread going where I am revealing the fact he still isn't following through.

I believe the term "Lamer" is still appropriate given the situation and bad business practices. He claims that the lawyer he contacted said he has a "good case" against me.

Honestly, I believe I am dealing with a scammer here who is at the end of the rope.

Anyways, any legal advice would be appreciated.

I'm sorry,............my "Decoder Ring" is charging. It appears you are as much of a scammer as he is, and he can leave negative feedback about the transaction all he wants.

No, I only posted negative feedback because he did respond after we agreed to the deal.

He is already holding onto my laptop as I am typing this.
