What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Arizona So a "process server" keeps calling me but I haven't answered. They say they are trying to serve me papers at my home or work but they are not saying what county or state they are from. They have just said that I'm legally notified. Other websites have said to look at the courts to see if any dockets have been filed. The server gave me a case number but didn't say what court system it was in? Is this just an attempt to collect debt?

It sounds to me like it's an attempt to serve you with legal process. It's never a good idea to ignore legal matters. Make arrangements to receive the documents.

The first call I received was from another state and an address that I haven't lived at for over 5 years.... should I try and file for bankruptcy? I know I don't make the limit for ch. 7 as I'm already at the poverty line and my checks are currently being garnished for child support.

How do you know that this isn't about Family Court?

That's OP's assumption. OP is unaware of what court system it's in, according to the initial post.
