Today my husband and I received papers that we are being sued, because of an automobile accident my husband was in 2 years ago. He was arressted on a DUI and has filled all requirements. The problem is I understand that he is being sued, but I am also. At the time of the accident I was at home in bed asleep. In the papers that were served it says that I am being sued because I gave him permission to drive the vehicle, even though it is owned by both of us, and I knowingly or should have known he would drive reckless, and I knowingly or should have known he would be driving under the influence of alcohol. How could I have known any of this??!!! He told me he was going to see a friend he hadnt seen in 2 years and would not be out long. So now I am being sued for pain and suffering. How can this person do this? Do they really have a case against me? Can this be thrown out?
