The bank is sueing me for the balance owed to them which I do not dispute. I had several items on the vehicle that were aftermarket parts. My loan contract states that any property in and/or attached to the vehicle that the bank does not have a security intrest in will be taken with the car but I'm entitled to claim it within a certain time period. When I went to claim the property they let me take the items inside my car but I was denied anything that was attached. The value of the items is more than what they are sueing me for and I want to file a countersuit to fight for my property. What kind of lawyer would I contact for some advice to find out what I should do. Will I need a lawyer to represent me in court or will the contract be enough to stand on by itself?

What kind of aftermarket stuff are we talking about?

Anything you added that would render the car inoperable (legally or mechanically) would likely not be allowed to be removed.
