White: Are you absolutely SURE that you received a summons and not just another letter from them?? The reason I am asking is that you would be the first person, to my knowledge, that actually got hammered on this.... and there are much, MUCH larger people for them to go after (before) they would get down to you.

For more information on their tactics, go to: http://www.legal-rights.org/newwilsonlettertxtNONAMES.html

Read the paper VERY closely. Does it show a court and case number?? If it does, call that court and ask them to confirm that you are named in a lawsuit.
Return here with the information (court and case number) once you have verified.

I wasn't able to access the Federal file (Pacer isn't working... as usual), but it did show that was a valid case with DTV as the plaintiff..... v. a named individual.

So, assuming that this is in fact a lawsuit filing, I suggest you IMMEDIATELY contact:
Allegan Law Offices, P.C.
141 Brady Street
Allegan, Michigan 49010
Attorney Fredrick W. Jensen, Jr.
Attorney C. Michael Villar

Contact: Allegan 269-673-8133
Toll Free 800-299-4529

Email: [email protected]

They are handling cases against DTV's filings.

A good site on the status of this issue is:

"this has me ina tizzy, can't sleep, can't eat, sick tummy, head ache etc"
That is exactly the response that they wanted it to have.

summons letter

I also was just hand-carried a Summons in a civil case w/ the 20 days to respond or else...It requests an answer to the complaint or I'll be in default, and the End User Group will ask a prayer of the U.S. Courts, Fla to fine me 10 k per device...it's a little scary...The class action lawsuit against these people may take longer than the 20 days given... I guess a local Attorney is needed, or worst case..What happens if no response is offered...How can they just fine people for this...?

they are hoping you don't reply, that way your in default thy can get $10, 000 judgement against you., my lawyer says all they are looking for is mony $$$$,he file for dismisal, and a suit for extortion .no idea where either will go , but is better than giving into them for free $10,000
