What is the name of your state? Hi everyone!

I am a NYS resident.
My GHI denied payment for a hospital stay last year Oct. 2002.
The hospital is now suing me and charging late fees. The original amount was for $10,000 and now they are suing me for $50,000!
Can they sue me and if so, can they garnish, take me to Court, etc...
I am a college student and I cannot pay this bill. What can I do? Thanks for any advice.

*** Yes and yes.

Your first question should be why did the insurance carrier deny the coverage and were they correct in doing so??
