What is the name of your state? Arizona
I had signed a 1 year lease, but had to terminate my lease 3 months early. In the lease termination agreement they asked me to pay the advertising fees, reimburse them for a mold inspection they had done do to the fact that there was evidence of mold in the home when i moved in caused by water damage and now they are trying to get me to pay for the 2 week free incintive they gave the new tenant and for $1000 in personal time fees.
When i signed my lease to my unknowing they didnt even own the house until two days later and now they sent me a copy of my lease and they had whited out the amount that I actually agreed to and changed it to a higher amount. Is there anything I can do legally to stop these people or protect myself from have to pay the rediculous fees. I go to court on the 20th of June and would apprectiate any help I can get.
thank you
Heather

What does your 1 year lease say about termination? What are the requirements?

What does this early termination agreement say? Is it on a napkin, a office depot cookie cutter form, etc?.

What does your lease state exactly with regards to lease termination? Type it out word for word, not your interpertation.

Do you have a copy of the lease?

Would also help if you have a copy of the lease termination agreement with the original amount on it before they whited it out on thier copy. YOU DID GET A COPY WHEN YOU SIGNED IT DIDN'T YOU?
