We subleted a House for a total of three months. The agreement was that Brian would pay the bills and the woman would pay the rent. There was no written agreement only a verbal agreement. We moved in mid-November and moved out Feb 13. The girl who owned the house called our new recidence and claimed we owed this money. We sent her the voided checks from all the bills and in April we received a letter from a lawyer saying if we disputed this within 30 days we would receive copies of the bills. On July 14, we recieved an order to show up in small claims cout. I called the woman to request copies of the "unpaid bills" but she refuses to send them to us and claims that we moved in the first of October and we owe her $900.00 for that months bills on electric, water, & 1/2 the phone bill. We were living in my parents home in October, can my father write a letter as our landlord stating that we lived in their house and not in the womans? Will the court accept this?

Before anyone can even try to help, you need to re-read your post and edit so that we can figure out who did what to whom, when and where. I am sure that this is all clear in your mind, but certainly not ours.

An example, your post says: "We subleted a House for a total of three months. The agreement was that Brian would pay the bills and the woman would pay the rent. There was no written
agreement only a verbal agreement. We moved in mid-November and moved out Feb 13. The girl who owned the house called our new recidence and claimed we owed this money."

Who is "Brian"?
Who is "the woman"?
Who sublet from who?
Who is 'we moved'?
Who is 'the girl who owned the house'?
How much were you supposed to pay??
Who were you supposed to pay??
Who did you pay??
How much did you pay??

Why didn't you dispute the letter you got in April??
If you did dispute it, what response did you get??
Have you subpoena'd 'the woman'(?) for her records??
What state are you in??

Your father can certainly appear as your witness that you were not a tenant in the "woman's" (?) home. But, since this is court, not school, a 'please excuse my daughter, she was at home' letter won't work.
