What is the name of your state? Pennsylvania

I have a difficult situation. My father-in-law recently died. His life insurance policy had his ex girlfriend as the primary beneficiary and my wife and her brother as the contingent/secondary. His ex-girlfriend called the insurance company and relinquished her rights to my wife and brother-in-law. Now my father-in-law's wife (who he has been separated from for 8-9 years and was never on this policy) is contesting the beneficiary with the insurance company. What rights does she and my wife have? My email is [email protected]
