Hello,

I ordered an item online from Best Buy recently. It was an in-store pick up and they have charged my credit card. I also got the confirmation email that the pick up is ready. When I come to pick it up, they refused to hand me the item because they said that there was a glitch in their system that allow customer to order this item at a cheaper price. I argued with the guy at Best buy for about 30 minutes and he just said there's nothing they can do even though i have an online receipt that said I paid for it at this price. Is there anything I can do? Can they do this? They said they will refund my credit card but my credit card statement still says I am being charged for that item. Any help would be great.

Thanks,

What is "this" price? Is it the incorrect lower price? Or is it the full, correct price?

this price is the price I ordered online which is $100...I guess according to them with the glitch excuse this would be the incorrect lower price. Their regular sale price on this item = $219

Lighten up...

At the bottom of the best buy page, you will notice a link to a disclaimer.

This disclaimer reads....

BestBuy.com Price Matching/Price Guarantee

If you've made a BestBuy.com purchase and discover a lower price offered on our Web site or at a Best Buy store on the same available brand and model, let us know and we'll match that price on the spot, tax included.

Exclusions:
The BestBuy.com Price Guarantee does not apply to competitors' offers; third-party offers; online auction sites; shipping charges; clearance, Outlet Center and open-box items (when price matching with a Best Buy store); items for sale November 27th through 29th, 2008; special offers or promotions such as mail-in incentives, gift-with-purchase and financing offers; services such as installation; or typographical errors. Best Buy stores in Puerto Rico have their own price match policy.
Notice the part about typographical errors.

You found an error and tried to exploit it... and are now angry that the store won't let you rip them off.

They owe you your money back. That is all.

If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is cancelled, Best Buy will issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the charge. Individual bank policies will dictate when this amount is credited to your account. If you are not fully satisfied with your purchase, you may return it in accordance with Best Buy's Return Policy.

Aren't we the little internet gods?

Sooo.... OP, I KNOW you already read those things... why did you think they didn't apply to you?

Well I didn't know if that wasn't even an error so how can i exploit it. I went to their website and browse the item, then purchase it like anyone would. That error is their problem not mine. But anyway I just want to know whether they have the right to do that or not since it didn't seem like a right thing to do. Thanks for the replies.
