Quick question...

I am divorcing father of unborn child after very quick and horrendous marriage. He is the father of the unborn child, but I do not want to use his last name for the child's. I would prefer to use my own for a myriad of reasons.

Is this legal? I plan to list him as the father even though I expect no child support.

Thanks for your help!

Tell the hospital the child's name in Jeniqua Badadams, and not the last name of your soon-to-be-ex-husband.

What few people realize is that it is legal to use any name, unless you intend to defraud. For example, I can be "Cher" as long as I don't intend to go on the talk show circuit and talk about my days with Sonny.

I am not an attorney.

Good luck.
