My husband and I are in the process of buying a condo and the board's representatives are making the process a living hell for us!
First of all the condo is not run by a management company, it is self run with a total of five unit owners as board members, who supposedly 'volunteer their time'! For the purchase/sale procedure, we've been put in touch with the president and vice president. Therein begins the problem - they return calls at their own whim and nit pick at everything! They will not speak to anyone who calls, not my brokers office trying to get me unit insurance - no one!
The lastest of their nit pickings has been on my husbands vehicle which is a f150 and according to board rules it is an oversized vehicle. The thing is, other vehicles on the property are just as big as my husband's including other f150s and Vans. They claim those vehicles have been grandfathered in (residents lived there for years with those vehicles) and such a privelege cannot be given to us because we are new owners!
We've tried suggesting solutions such as alternate parking etc. They will stop at nothing until we get rid of the truck completely Can they do this, they are getting on our last nerve, everytime we try to move ahead and close the sale they come with another BS problem! Help what should I do?
