Texas
About a month ago my husband and I bought a 94 accord for my 17 year old son. The seller listed the title as clear and on hand. We bought the car for $1500. He gave us a bill of sale. He then informed us that the car had been previously abandoned at a storage facility. I tried to title the vehicle at DMV, there they told me that he, the dealer, had to title the vehicle. We paid him $275 to title the vehicle. We were informed that he had to get a bonded title so it would take a while for him to get the title. Now he says that he lost the contact information from the person who was in "charge" of getting the bonded title. During this time we have put in about $500-600 in the car so it would be safe for my son to drive. I have texted the seller, a dealer, several times with no response. The current paper plates on the car are now expired. The car no longer runs and we ended up having to buy a more reliable car for my son. (Lesson learned) My questions are as follow..
Can we sue to get the money back that we have put into the car?
What are our options?
Thanks for any advice...
