What is the name of your state?
OH
I'll post and do some more research, but I haven't found anything yet.
I'm inquiring about the safety of a booster seat in a jeep wrangler-top down.
Is this allowed or safe?
I noticed the back of the seats are low, so the child's upper body was set quite high. Actually from his rib area and up were completely above the sides of the vehicle.
I'll inquire with the jeep site and state law also.
I couldn't tell if there is a shoulder belt, but imagine there isn't since ther was nowhere to connect.

I believe that the recommendation for booster seats is based upon what area of the chest the adult shoulder strap crosses, and that having the shoulder strap cross high up is a contributing factor in increased injury. The booster, regardless of seat height (we use a booster that has a back) allows the shoulder strap to better cross the center of the child's chest.

If seat height is a concern, I'd recommend getting a better booster WITH a back, rather than abandoning the booster altogether.
