I'm a Canadian, but I was born in the US (Oregon), and lived there for about a year before my family left again. My parents never did anything, and I always assumed that because of that, and because I held a Canadian passport, I was Canadian only.
But digging around, it appears not, that I actually am a US citizen, or at anyrate can get a certificate or something of US citizenship. I must say the INS site is not super useable, so before I start digging through gazillions of dense documents, or paying money to an info line, is there a simple place I can go to to find out what I need to do, ie what are the processes and so on? Its not like I can afford a lawyer or anything, and I'm not sure if I would really need to, would I?
Thanx for any help.
