Bother to pay parking ticket after moving?

I got a parking ticket in NYC, and recently moved to Washington State. Should I even bother paying that ticket, or what kind of consequences will be incurred if I don't? I appreciate all the help!

They send the 10 plagues for you if you don't pay.

Or, they may just let the fines and penalties accrue until there's a sufficient amount to issue a tow-order for your car, which means I wouldn't try to drive a car registered in your name here.

Then again, they may just call you up on the phone and breath heavily.

Pay it.. like YAG mentions, fees will accrue for quite a while.. I moved from LA to CA a while back and thought I'd be slick and leave behind a number of unpaid tickets there since I has an MS license that I had eventually let expire because I wasn't driving for a while anyway. I figured I'd just hope the multi-state confusion and paperwork would be sufficient for them to all drift away into nothingness and never catch up with me. Wrong.

When I went to get a license in CA, about 75% of the tickets showed up on record and prevented me from getting a license... I had to pay through the nose to get them straightened out.. I did skate out of 1 or two tickets, though, and have not heard anything about them since... I'd pay your one ticket and be done with it, though.
