What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

I bought a new construction home from a medium sized Northern California builder. The builder has provided a 1-year warranty from the closing date.

My key concern is that based upon the poor craftmanship, that has been exhibited during the warranty period, that significant issues will continue from day 366 going forward.

How should I be thinking about this process from a legal standpoint? what are my rights? how should I prepare?

You need to review your warranty and get a consult with a local attorney. However, one reality is that there will always be maintenance necessary for a home. You can never expect a situation where you will not have maintenance costs.
