We bought some property and the sellers also turned over the Mobile Home to us in the sale.Problem is when we went to pay personal property taxes, and then went to get papers on the home..we found out that the home belongs to someone else. (NOT the people we bought the land from) It was theres one time but they sold it to someone..(Nothing said to us) Anyways..we contacted the individual who owns this mobile home and asked she remove it fom property or turn papers over to us..(we need it off land so we can build our home) This person has NOT responded in anyway. What can we do now...?????? How do we legally get this home off our land? Anyone help us please! Northern California/Shasta County

Yes, I would say you do.
This is why a 'Title Search' is worth the cost and saves many a headache in the long run.
But all is not lost. Send the individual a certified letter stating if the trailer is not moved off the property within 30 days, legal action will be taken. Demand they reply to the letter with their intentions. File a copy of that letter at the courthouse. Usually, people will take the necessary steps to do what they need to do to secure their property.
If they don't respond. Send a letter with a copy of the certified letter you sent to individual to the State Licensing (Titles and Abstracts)and tell them of the situation and what you did. Chances are, you will wind up getting the trailer in your name.
Possession is 9/10 of the law in most cases.
I almost sure it applies here as well.
BTW, I am not a lawyer but have experienced enough in my life that I feel I should get at least a "certificate of legal ease."
Remember, all states have varying courses of action to take. Check with them first.
Good luck. Seminole
