What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? FL

Hi, I sold someone an item on craigslist and accepted a personal check as payment. I did verify the person's identity, address, DL #, SSN, DOB, and bank account # before agreeing to this. The check was returned by the buyer's bank and he is now refusing to pay me or give back the item. Is there anything I can do?

Thank you for any and all help you can offer.

Sue the bad person. This should be a lesson to never ever accept anything less than verified funds when you buy/sell online.

In Florida, you can get the form from the state attorney on line. Fill it out and file it. This is the best way because it is criminal and not civil.

Thank you so much for your advice. I found the form online and it was very easy to use. This has been a huge learning experience for me. I hope I am able to get the money back someday....
