boyfriend arrested for child molestation

I have a question my boyfriend was arrested because he was accused by myself and my daughter of touching her private parts. There was a video tape made but showed no faces. I turned it into the police after asking my daughter if my boyfriend had did this. She said yes. Now come to find out we believe she is lying because he had grounded her and she might be protecting someone else. When i told the social service people this i was told iam lying and only trying to protect the man i love. That
s not what iam doing. My daughter comes first. When i question her she still says the same thing, but iam worried she scared she will get into trouble for this. When you ask her if she would feel safe if he went on vaction w/us she would say yes i would and he can come along. She only 11 yrs old & milde mental retarted. What can i do to help the boyfriend out if she sticks to her story. Can i tell the police or someone this w/out them having to requestion her? I live in the State of Iowa

I live in the State of Iowa<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>everything you said about your daughter makes me believe she told you what happened. and the video makes it clear that something did. she's a little girl torn between taking away something her mom values (boyfriend) and being afraid of anything happening to her again. she needs to see a therapist pronto. that will provide a safe enviroment for her to say exactly what happened. as for vacation, if your boyfriend didn't do this, he has no reason not to agree to a postponement in order for you to give your daughter the support and attention she needs. and he won't want to rock her boat anymore. she will be FIRST in his mind too. if he doesn't feel that way, you can do better for yourself and her. i'm sorry. this really touches my heart. i work with children in trouble and have seen the after affects of sexual abuse.it's heartrending. please give her all the love and support right now. if he didn't do it and loves you and your little girl, he'll be there when you are BOTH ready.
i'm not a lawyer....just there for the children
