In short:
I put my ex-boyfriends credit card in my name so we could get a house, but he will not pay me back now.. Can I do anything. He has emailed me and told me that he would pay me back .. I have saved the emails.. Can I get the money back?

You cannot sue for that much money in small claims court. If you want to forget about the rest of it and sue up to your state's maximum you can do that - present your case to the judge with copies of the E-mail, etc. and hope for the best.

JasonRT: Samcarrot did not list her state. Here in Georgia, small claims goes to $15,000. Trust me...I have been there enough to know! This website will link you to the states and their limits...this site has Ga listed as a $5,000 limit, but thats not correct. If she lives in Ga, she could pursue this in small claims. What are the odds though??
