I have a small Trucking business, I bought a Tralier from a guy for 8000.00 an we made a contract among areself saying that he will give me the title whithin 60 days and that I have given him the money. I written him a letter and he has not called I have gone to the police Dept to fill charges and the district attorney and they say that they can't help me. I done everthing I can think of don't know where else to turn. in the state of Texas.......

The police cannot help you because this is a civil matter and not a criminal matter. You can sue him in Small Claims, but the limit on a Small Claims suit in Texas is $5,000, so you would not get the entire amount.

You can also sue him in the usual court system. In such a case, you may be able to win attorney’s fees. If you select this option, ask the attorney you hire if the suit will bring attorney’s fees.

One approach might be to have an attorney send a “lawyer’s letter” on your behalf to the other side. The letter could explain why you are right and they are wrong, and demand that they do what you want. This would show that you are serious, and that you've gotten a lawyer involved. That often motivates folks and get you satisfaction. It is usually not very expensive and if the letter persuades the other side to see it your way, it can save money, time and frustration.
