Beind sued in small claims because I sold a car to one of my friends she was paying the car monthly to the lender and it remained in my name . We signed a contract stating that she needs to take full responsibility of car and once she pays of the loan it would be in her name . I told her 5 months after she had the car she needed to start outing the car in her name . She agreed and then 6 months later still it didn't happen . In one week we received tickets in the mail for the car so we told her we had already given her plenty of time so she needed to put the car in her name by the end of the wel because according to her she already was approved for a loan. Or give us the car bacck.

She became upset that we pushed her to do it and told us the next day she went to go see a lawyer and told her she was entitled to get all her monthly payments back even though she was using the car and if she would give us the car back.

She gave us the car back in horrible condition no wheeee near how we gave it to her .

We got served last week so we just want to know what to prepare fore

... We signed a contract stating that she needs to take full responsibility of car ...
The best way to prepare is to have your own attorney.

You have a written and signed contract. If you did not breach its terms (or attempt to change the terms without consent), and any additions to the terms were written and not oral, then you should have a good defense to the suit. I hope your contract addressed all of this.

Contract

Yeah I dorm understand why I would have to pay her the money at all if she was in possession of the car when she was paying for it
