Help!!!
Alaska - I signed a training contract with an airline company September of 1999. This contract was used to bind pilots to fly for their company for a period of two years. If the pilot elects to leave the company prior to the completion of the contract you owe money. $333.33 is reduced from the 8000 dollar balance monthly. I remained with the company for 16.5 months leaving me a balance of $2500.05 due to the company. One of the terms of the contract that I requested be added was there would be normal raises in compensation as allowed by the pilot wage scale. This was initialed by one of the powers that be on the written contract. Normal would be a raise after 12 months. It took 3 different request to human resources, and the chief pilot to finally get my raise. This happened three months after my first request. They had no reason to withold my raise. No letter in my file nothing. Five months after leaving the company, i get a certified letter in the mail stating i owe them money, "You have X amount of days to reply to this letter or we will have no recourse but to turn this debt over to our collection agency. I could use a bit of advice. Willing to hear any suggestions on my next move
sincerely, Duffy
