Three years ago I contracted with a local business person to do extensive work on my privately owned boat. I paid him several thousand dollars to begin the work. He initially removed and never replaced engines/other components from the boat and then ceased to do anything else. I have contacted him numerous times regarding completion of this work, to no avail. He has since gone out of business and without my knowledge moved my boat to a private location, the owner of which, has now contacted me regarding removal of my boat, and storage/disposal fees related thereto. The person originally contracted to do the work is totally non-responsive. Is there anything I can legally do to recoup my loss. What are my liabilities, if any, regarding storage/disposal fees?

Take the guy to small claims court. I can't give any advice on the storage but the storage guy is entitled to something as it is not his fault you decided to deal with an unqualified or dishonest repair guy.
