Thanks for answering this in advance...
My so called best friend and I entered into a rental agreement to save expenses. We both attend the same college. She has fluncked out and has regularly been staying at her boyfriends apartment. We agreed to pay the rent 50/50. Well, today she moved out, leaving me with the responsibility of the full rent each month for the next 8 months.
Should I explain to the rental management what has occured, or move out myself or is it
grounds for claims court between the two of us. The school is in Balt.,MD and so is the Apartment.
She comes from a broken home and I kind of feel sorry for her, but this and three abortions, I am finish with this friendship.
I must get on with my life and finish school, its my last year.
Any insight on this will be appreciated..

AGAIN Thanks for any in-put.

The landlord may be willing to let you out of the lease -- in which case you need another apartment. Or if you both signed, you can demand that she pay her half. Or you could get a new tenant to make up her share of the rent or beg your family to help -- it is only 4 - 5 months.

PS The landlord could care less that she flaked on you -- that's your problem, not his -- but he may be willing to work with you.
