The only rights I am aware of is the fact that if an engagement ring was given, it must be returned.

Are you trying to sue someone because he/she didn't marry you? No can do!

No, I understand that, but I lost a lot of income due to his promis to marry me. I left a lucrutive job, I moved. I spent money on the promised home. I took a lesser paying job and now have to pay rent, etc. The job I left as a consultant, I didn't have to pay rent or utilities, phone, cable. Now I have to on less income.

You should probably contact a civil attorney.

However, the only thing I can see where you may recover is "you spent money on the promised home."

If this was in the form of 1/2 or less of the rent, then you likely cannot recover. However, if you put money down on a house, and you can prove it, and you no longer live in the house, you may be able to recover. But I see nothing else, since you are an adult and would have had to pay rent, utilities, etc. no matter what.
