question from Ohio........

can a lease be broken without any hassles before we have even moved in ? deposits have been paid , including pet deposit. but we have not given them our 1st months rent check yet. is it still legally binding or is it up to how nice the rental complex wants to be or not be ? i'm not worried about losing the deposit if necessary.

YOU signed it YOU are responsible for any damages, you will probably lose the deposit PLUS any expenses they have to re rent the apartment.

The rule is: The LANDLORD is entitled by law not to lose even ONE days rent over YOU!

So if they can re rent asap, and they agree to let you out of your lease...make sure you get it in writing or you may find out years later they took you to court and got a judgment against you.

OH and NEVER lose that signed paper or you will be screwed!
