We own a home that we rent out. Our tenant signed a lease for one year. When that lease was up, she signed another one year lease. That lease will expire in September 2001. We now have someone interested in purchasing our home. Would the new buyers have to abide by our lease, or could they give our tenant a notice to move and move in themselves? We live in Wisconsin.

The new Buyer would take over your position as L. If they prefer to move in earlier perhaps they would want to negotiate with T, say pay them to move out early.

The lease agreement may provide the answer. Reread it, and, if answer not there, resubmit query.
