My roomate and I are currently in a lease that ends on Jan 4 2002. we were hired by the landlord to clean the hallways and luandry rooms. As of today we were informed his boss wants him to do the cleaning. Now that that has happen we aren't able to aford the rent and would liek to move to someplace that has cheaper rent. Is there any leagal way i can go about breaking a lease and not get punished for it

i currently live in Wisconsin

do you have anything in writing? Did you get paychecks from the landlord?

If so then you might be able to say your rental was based upon having the income from that and the landlord violated the lease.

Of course if you have NOTHING in writing, you'd better run down to Burger King or Mickey D and get a second job
