What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Phoenix, Arizona I am a 23 year old mother of two children. My daughter is 6 years old and my son is 7 years old. About 8 months ago I dropped my kids off @ my daughter's father's house for the weekend. Although I felt uneasy about the situation, the courts gave him joint custody. During the middle of the night, while my kids were asleep, my X-boyfriend left the house to rob a neighbors home. Fortunately he was caught within a couple hours. No one called me to let me know what was going on. The police called "Child Protective Services" to come get the kids. Once "CPS" learned my childrens names, they easily connected them to my mother.
You see, I was a child taken away from my mother by "CPS." Unfortunately I was always returned to my mom & stepfather. From the age of 13 to 16 my stepfather raped me. I am the oldest child and the only one who is not my stepfather's child. "CPS" never believed me about the rapes or my mother's beatings,so they sent me back home.
I never wanted to know the paternity of my son. One is because he is a part of me and second is because my love for him is so devoted that the father is not an issue in my eyes. Anyways, "CPS" ran DNA tests and found that my stepfather is positively the father of my son. They also found that my mother is doing 8 yrs. prison time for a "Drug Lab." Child Protective Services will not release my children to me because they say that now that I know who my son's father is, they are afraid I'll treat him differently. Also, they want me to give up other names involved in my mother's drug labs. My mother kicked me out when I was 17. I do not know the answers they want. I have devoted my life to changing the cycle of abuse that runs in my family. My love and devotion to my children is extremely genuine. I have no felony charges, no problems w/the Law at all and I've adhere to everything that "CPS" has asked of me. Through everything, I don't even have visitation. I miss my babies so much. I can't afford an Attorney and I don't know the answers about my mother that they want. My "CPS" case worker hangs up on me & says, "See your kids when their 18." Everyday I cry, not knowing were to turn. I don't want my children in the "CPS system" I was in. I love them toooooo much. They are my best friends.
Please help me in this disfunctional state of child custody! Who can help me? I have some money, not alot, but I'll give up the clothes on my back to see my kids. HELP!!!!
