What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Maine

I plan to sell some of my private collection of Limoges overseas. I need to make it through US customs first. The pieces are Limoges porcelain of value less than $700. Do I need to show any paperwork proof of ownership to get them through the US part of customs to get them on the plane to France. I figure that the euro is stronger than the dollar and I would like to sell these things for the best price. I bought them years ago so I don't have a sales receipt.
If anything happens to them does my flight insurance cover their damage?
