child 11 years old was playing at school and broke the leg.this was a field day for all the students.while playing a game hopping on one foot and popping a ballon.this was not a regular pe class.emt were called and treated the child at the seene and then was care flited to the hospital.this child had broken both bones in the leg and had to have surgery.will the school have to help with medical bills. What is the name of your state?

Do you have insurance? Why do you feel the school should help with the medical bills? The school will most likely advise you that they weren't negligent.

What type of release form did the parents sign before the child was allowed to go on the field trip?

Health insurance will pay for the medical bills, minus any deductibles, co-pays, etc.

The OP said it was a 'field day'. In my parts a 'field day' is typically held near the end of the school year. It is basically a prolonged recess and typically takes place on the school grounds.
