What is the name of your state? Wisconsin

My brother has been awol for 8 months. He had just got out of basic and went to his base where he was going to be finishing his contract. He came home for Christmas and kind of never went back. He had a lot of trouble when he was there being able to handle the Military life style. What can he do to get this taken care of? any help would be great. I know he needs to turn himself in but where? What kind of time is he looking at? Whats the best way to go about all of this? What are his risks of not turning himself in?
I just want to help him out so he can start his life and not have to worry about any of this. Please let me know.

Thanks for the advice. I just want to get him to turn himself in and get this all taken care of. Its a lot of stress and very easy to forget about but i think it would be better for him to have it taken care of.
He did get to his main base but was only there for about a week after basic training then left on Christmas break.
A ton of posts on here say that you will get Jail time and others say that your in and out in a few weeks tops. Who is right on this?

He finished basic, then finished Air borne, went to his permanent base, it was over chirstmas break so nobody was there so they let him go home. He never went back after that. So i think hes in a little more trouble then just leaving from basic. Should he need a lawyer or any of that?
