What is the name of your state? Kentucky.

My boyfriend got solicited via telephone in June from Buckmasters, wanting him to become a member and stuff. The guy wanted him to give him his credit card info over the phone to pay for it. ( I dont remember what price was quoted.)

Anyway, my man said he didnt have a checking account. and for the guy to send us something in the mail about it.

So we get a couple of magazines, and a hunting video in the mail. and then a bill for 126 dollars! I called customer service and told them we didnt want it.
The magazines stopped

and now we get a letter from a collection agency called "mail assurance service" saying they are trying to collect this debt, based "on a verbal agreement" So again I called Buckmasters and told them AGAIN and told them we didnt want their stupid stuff. He was like, well that was another offer. You want to cancel this one?" and he said ok Ill cancel it.

WELL YEAH! We never wanted it in the first friggin place.

So should I ask for validation or what. I have a feeling this is not over.

Thanks in advance!

Hmm.. similar scam was run by some other magazine subscription service not too long ago. The FTC took a huge bite out of 'em and shut 'em down. I would NOT pay them, their 'verbal agreement' is crap. I'd DV them for sure.. what are they going to be able to produce as proof ????
