What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NM

I don't know why things are hitting me strange of late regarding extreme legal issues, but here is another one. I will not go into details other than saying, yeowsah!

With the part that really blows my mind in the techdirt article:
And, to add insult to injury, KOB4's news team states that the Gila Regional Medical Center is billing Eckert for the invasive, non-consensual medical procedures and has threatened to take him to collections for non-payment.

Now I read this is not the first time.

Even I thought this was some sort of misguided joke, until I read the article. I will refrain from saying what I really want to and giving my opinion about these officers and the system in general.

I well say this.... I hope he wins millions and brings national attention.

Of all the places we've lived, NM was, hands down, the worst in every possible way. I could write a book, but won't.

This latest news, sadly, did not surprise me in the least. It made me sad and horrified, but not surprised. :(

Discussed on local talk radio this AM. Left me wondering about Dude's priors.

Even if the "Dude's priors" were relevant in any way, the acts done to the man shocks the conscience for drug possession. If they thought he had a vial of smallpox virus up there, sure. I cannot see how the warrant was issued was reasonable. Probable cause? Maybe. I'd love to see the affidavit on that. Reasonable? No way.

With Roswell only a 4 hour drive away from Deming, perhaps the tales reported by some of anal probes by aliens are not so far-fetched afterall. Just replace probe-happy ETs with probe-happy New Mexico policemen and doctors, and earthlings appear to be just as insane as these supposed visitors from other planets.

Maybe the dudes probed by Ets were just high and it was policemen doing the probing.

Dude's priors don't matter. At. All. If the police have a habit of doing this, I hope they are sued and Dude wins.
I'm thinking priors is why a judge gave permission in the first place. But not condoning what happened in any way.

According to NM court records, priors included a fistful of felony possession charges over 12 years, most of which were dismissed, a few still active.

I hope he bends them over like they did him.
