This is New York State. We live in Queens, about 50 miles away. The police will not say when this happened, but will disclose all upon my sons surrender. The lawyer wants 2500. to surrender my son claiming to be with him at every step of the way for the arrainment process. At that time, the lawyer says he will find out all the other info. What do you think?

My response:
Well, I can't disagree with what the Police are saying, nor with your attorney's need to be paid. However, and I'm only asking, even though you say he's never been to Suffolk, and his license is suspended, is it possible that he was a passenger in a friends car that took him into Suffolk County? Grill the kid again. Scare the Bejeebers out of him if you have to. Make him sweat with stories how this could screw up his chances for higher education, jobs, security clearances, but get him to talk to you again. I'm NOT saying he did this. I am saying that I want you to be 150% sure he didn't.
