California...I don't know if I posted this in the correct forum. My husband's grandmother passed away the other day. His mom was her Power of Attorney, but put her in a nursing home after contact with Adult Protective Services twice in a 24 hour period. Now, she is hiding the will (we don't know who the executor is) from the family and won't set up a funeral or any service that his grandma had already paid for. Is there anything any of us can do? Is she allowed to not do a funeral/service eventhough it was paid for and requested by the grandmother? His mom is already having her cremated against her wishes because she doesn't want to pay for the transport costs to have her transported from Idaho to California for burial. Any help will work please, all of the grand children are devasted about the situation on top of the fact the grandmother has passed. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

you say she needs to be transported from Idaho to California yet you state this is concerning California. Was the grandmother a resident of Idaho or California when she died?

with all due respect, she is passed, she'll never know.

the important issue is, where did she pass to?

Everything is paid for in California and she is supposed to be buried in Ca as that is where she is from and lived until my mother in law dragged her up to Idaho. She was placed in a facility in Idaho because of APS.

I understand that she is gone and won't know the difference of whether she has a service or not, but this is including not being buried or anything. I want to know if she can legally hold on to her body without do anything for months.
