I live behind a bar in New Jersey. Sometimes the patrons get drunk and are sometimes rowdy to the point of some property damage. I haven't had any major damage, yet. I need to know to what extent, legally, is a bar owners responsibility for his patrons when they leave.

If NJ has a "dram shop" law, are strictly liable for damage caused by persons who you served beyond the appropriate point.

Get some liability insurance and ask the local innkeepers association.
