Business Relationship

A close business relationship between two parties was affected by adverse actions by the employer of one party. The spouse of the other the party has taken offense to the situation and has contacted legal counsel to stop all communications between the two former business partners who had remained friends. The legal counsel has threatened "court action" if communications do not cease. Can anything be done to counter the threat, thus, saving the business (friendship) relationship?

Without a lot more details of this situation, the best answer is: legal action cannot prevent someone from talking to another, as long as their are no threats or harrassment. Any attempts to 'block' speech would be a violation of the First Amendment.
