What is the name of your state?ga
What laws govern debt collection practices in the case of
Corporation vs. Sole proprietor? For instance, Is an attorney hired by a corporation to collect a debt from a sole proprietor subject to Collection Agency Restrictions such as found in the FDCPA?

Is it a business debt ? Did the Sole proprietor personally guarantee the funds ?

FDCPA applies to consumer debt , it this was for business purposes it likely will not apply.

As the sole proprietor of a small business I am personally responsible for
all debt incurred under the business name.
The corporation that is making threats to sue me over a $125.00 invoice has hired an attorney to shake me up. Between the corp and their attorney it seems as if anything goes as they threaten me and contact my accounts and other vendors in an effort to run me down. They will spend many $'s trying to "show me who is boss" and they seem to think that I will cover all of the legal fees in the end. No validation, no accounting, no ethics. Surely there is some law to protect the small business owner against the huge budgets of the corporations. Any ideas where to look? Google searches using "corp debt collection laws" havent led me there yet...

thanks Bruce
