New York. My uncle sold his home 6 years ago allowing the buyers to owe him $11,000. He has never received the $11,000. What steps do I take to collect the $11,000 plus interest on his behalf?

Does he have a mortgage on the property? A note?
What does he have to prove that the Buyers owe him the money?

I have a signed and notarized document stating that the buyers will pay the sellers by May 1995. Please tell me what steps I should take to collect this money without hiring an attorney or any other parties. Thank you.

I must say that I'm highly dissappointed by the responses I have received from this website. I was quite excited when I discovered this website last week, but now it is clear to me that there is no attempts on the websites part to give sound advice. Additionally, "HomeGuru" tends to write with a tone of sarcasm.

My response: you backed your own self against the wall. You want someone to tell you how to collect WITHOUT hiring an attorney or anyone else. That's like saying teach me to drive but don't give me the car key. I could give an 8 hour
lecture on collection practices, techniques and the legal procedure. There is abundant information on the internet on this subject that could very easily be found, if you would bother to do some work and research.

If you desire specifc legal procedure/advice, you should have posted such. A general question such as "tell me how to collect the money" is way beyond the scope of this website. Did you even bother to read the website disclaimer and user instructions?

I have many other posts to respond to and you are not the only one asking for help. You are being greedy and not considerate of others that follow instructions when they post. I want to help you but you are not helping yourself. I am certainly not going to spend all of my time handing you information on a silver platter when you are capable of getting the info yourself. Search engines.
