What is the name of your state? Texas

I sold a young champion show dog to a lady for breeding purposes. We had no written or oral contract. The female I sold her was a proven breeder; she had one live litter while in my possession. The woman can not get her bred and claims I knew this before hand and that is why I sold her. She accuses me of being unethical and a liar. I told her I would replace the female with a puppy when I had one available. It has been less than a year since this transaction happened. In the interim she has sent me numerous harassing defamatory emails (all of which I have saved) questioning my honesty and ethics. I offered her a one-year-old female as replacement and she refused it at the time. She now weeks later sends me an email stating she wants the female previously offered (which is no longer available) or her money back. She says she has spayed and sold the original female to a pet home. She has been very rude and confrontational with her correspondences.

My question is how should I handle this? Am I legally obligated to replace the female or refund her money? Her confrontational emails are upsetting and I am to the point I would rather have no more dealings with her. I have tried to do the right thing but she is making it difficult. TIA

I wouldn't have anything more to do with this woman; and if she sues you, tell the judge she ruined the merchandise and you will not give her her money back.
