What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California
I put a rare intake manifold from a friend for sale on Craigslist. I had it as $2000 OBO. It had 4 small pictures with it. A man called me up and had to have the intake. He asked what my rock bottom was and i said $1500 and any less i'd rather keep it. He sent me money a day or two later (postal money order). I cashed it then shipped it to him UPS that same day. When he received it he emailed me and said he is unhappy because there is a repair to the intake and some pitting in the water cavity. (this is a 42 year old intake) He is threatening to take me to court saying that i misrepresented the intake and it isn't worth $1500 to him. He wants me to pay for the cosmetic repairs. I told him from the beginning i knew nothing about the intake. Today i offered him $100 to help repair the cosmetic defects and keep the peace. I haven't heard from him yet but i doubt he'll be satisfied. I think it's a case of buyer beware. He had the chance to ask for more pictures or ask me to look for specific things but he impulse bought it. Does he have a case? If he sues me in Fresno and i live in San Diego how would that work?
Thanks.
